After earning an MFA from Yale University School of Art, Professor Margaret Morton dedicated nearly four decades to teaching at The Cooper Union School of Art. She began as an adjunct instructor in 1980, became a full-time faculty member in 1985, and was appointed Professor of Art by 1999. Renowned for her dedication to her students and her significant influence on the curriculum, Professor Morton taught a variety of courses, including foundational classes like Two-Dimensional Design and Basic Drawing, advanced graphic design, photography, and the distinctive Art of the Book. Beyond her teaching, she directed the Exchange Mobility Program and served on several key committees, including the Curriculum Committee, Academic Advising Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee. Professor Morton retired in 2018, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire students and faculty alike.
